Spam & Scam Alert!
While the percentage of spam emails has slowly decreased over the last decade — from ~57% to around 46% — there are still ~160 billion spam emails sent every day. So, if your inbox is less than half spam, you can thank your spam filters!
Here’s one that beat the odds and slipped its way past our security to our inboxes, and how we ID’d it as a potential scam:

It’s been a good while since we’ve seen a phishing attempt get through, but this one hit our inbox today. Thankfully, this one had all the hallmarks we’ve come to expect in this type of phishing email scam.
What to Look For
- The from email address is obviously not an official Zoho corporate address.
- Uses a threatening scenario, in this case the loss of access to our email account, with a limited frame time to fix the issue.
- The “Keep Current Password” button link is not a real Zoho link.
What to Do
- Never click links in an email or download any attachments. Instead, type in the address of the service and use the official login system to access your account.
- Mark the email as a phishing attempt, block the sender, and delete the email.
Remember, Scammers Count on You Clicking!
Don’t click links in emails! Instead, look up email addresses and phone numbers for customer service, be skeptical, and listen to your spidey senses.
Good Luck!
