New Website Bug Reporting Form

Bugs. We’re not talking about the creepy-crawly type, though this kind can send shivers down our team’s spine, too. No, we’re talking about the annoying issues that plague even the best-built websites from time to time. While there are a multitude of potential causes for any given bug, what really matters to most organizations is how quickly it can be fixed.

Whether it’s a broken contact form, a page that suddenly has a wonky layout, or a previously functional feature that suddenly decides to stop working, reporting problems quickly helps us resolve them faster. That’s why we’ve launched our new Bug Report page with a comprehensive reporting form, making it easier than ever for valued clients to report website issues while providing us with the information we need to figure out what’s going on and get that bug squashed.

If you’ve spotted something on your CleverOgre-built website that doesn’t look or work as expected, our new reporting form is the quickest way to let us know.

What is a Website Bug?

Before submitting a report, it’s helpful to understand what is — and what isn’t — considered a website bug.

A bug is an unexpected issue caused by the website itself. This could include pages that fail to load, broken forms, layout problems, missing functionality, buttons that don’t respond, or error messages that can be consistently reproduced.

However, not every issue originates from the website itself. Problems caused by local internet or network connectivity, browser extensions, outdated browsers, or cached website files may not actually be website bugs. While we’re always happy to help identify the cause, these situations often require a different solution.

Steps to Try First

Before submitting a report, please try these simple troubleshooting steps:

  • Refresh the page
  • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies
  • Open the website in a private or incognito window
  • Try another browser or device
  • Disable any browser extensions that could be interfering
  • Test using a different internet connection, such as mobile data instead of Wi-Fi

If you’re still seeing the issue, our reporting form will guide you through providing the details we need, including the page URL, a description of the problem, the steps to reproduce it, the browser and device you’re using, and any error messages you’ve received.

Pro Tip: Include Screenshots With Your Bug Report!
