Meet The Pensacola Web Design Ogres

We take our work seriously, but that's about it.

People call the CleverOgre Team a lot of stuff — mostly after asking what the heck a CleverOgre is.

Some of the more common (and family-friendly) words used to describe the CleverOgre Team are: creative, first-class, charismatic, on-time, awesome (yeah!), helpful, professional (in public, anyway) and sociable.

We just say we're Ogres. We do website development, branding, and advertising — and leave it at that.

Scroll on to find out a bit about each of us, and let us know how we can help you be awesome, too.

Christopher Davis

Chief Ogre

Our Chief Ogre, Christopher Davis, has travelled an interesting and varied career path.

While he began tinkering with LOGO and BASIC programming in the 70s on TRS-80s, he began his formal education in the 90s studying Studio Art at UWF and Electrical Engineering at UF. During this time, he worked as a freelance graphic designer and gained more programming knowledge on the side. While Christopher studied subjects such as art, math, physics, engineering, and programming, he now holds a Bachelor’s in Advertising with a minor in Studio Art from UWF.

Over the years he also worked in screen printing, sign making and billboard design (not to mention stints as a midnight grocery stock clerk, picture framer, mini-golf course and lawn maintenance technician, barista, and music store employee). In the fall of 2007, Christopher decided to combine all his myriad educational, corporate and life experiences into something … different.

When Christopher is not in his creative space or coding, he is hanging with his boy/girl twins or off-road cycling.

Fun FactChristopher has given up fighting the epithet "hipster" just because, meh.

Chris Dadant

Creative Ogre

After six years, two degrees, and a few credit hours in Party 101, Chris Dadant began his professional journey with CleverOgre as a designer in the fall of 2008. He now spends his days developing logos, laying out websites and drinking ridiculously strong coffee. If he isn’t talking, don’t worry, he’s probably got a new idea (or two, or three) brewing inside that hairy mug of his.

In 2017, Chris and his family relocated down Highway 98 to Santa Rosa Beach, FL, where he continues to handle the creative side of things for CleverOgre. When not in the office, you’ll find him with his wife and daughter on the beaches of South Walton, at a local brewery or checking out some live music.

As Digital Project Manager, Nora Jones works closely with clients to help them overcome whatever obstacles they may face in reaching their advertising goals. Like all the Ogres, she wears many hats, taking on task management, budgeting, billing and day-to-day internal and external communications.

Nora has a true knack for conversation, an open mind, and a creative soul, making her perfect as an Ogre. She graduated from UWF with a degree in Hospitality Recreation and Resort Management — not a far shot from what she’s doing now. She loves music and will catch a live show any chance she gets. Nora is the glue that holds her family together and she’s performing a similar role here at CleverOgre.

Jo Lynn Barnicoat, Director of Business Development, has a true passion for helping businesses grow and succeed. She calls herself the “bridge” between our clients and the geeks here at CleverOgre. Jo Lynn’s years of experience in developing and executing marketing and advertising campaigns brings a nice balance to our team. Whether she’s helping optimize a client’s social media presence or breaking down an SEO report, she truly loves to help businesses find their unique place in the online jungle!

When she’s not running to meet a looming deadline or attending a networking event, she tends to focus on being a closet health nut and loves engaging in all kinds of sports and activities. Jevon Young

Content and UX Ogre

Jevon Young has worn many hats over the years, due in part to suffering from an insatiable curiosity and love of learning new things. His experiences include time in the computer, healthcare, higher education, communications and interior design industries.

This wide range of experiences, coupled with the lessons learned from reading anything he can get his hands on, has left Jevon able to create and edit content in any number of subject areas. His experience with analyzing and optimizing communication channels and interfaces has led Jevon to take the lead on UX design here at CleverOgre, too.

When we let him out of the Cave, Jevon enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter exploring the huge diversity of natural areas along the Gulf Coast, finding and sharing new music, and engaging in an absurd amount of renovation projects.
